Feminine Frontiers of Faith

Join us for an inspirational session with women of faith in leadership, featuring Laura Janner-Klausner, Rabbi to the Movement for Reform Judaism, and Julie Siddiqi, Executive Director of the Islamic Society of Britain.

Event held in conjunction with the E&D, University of Cambridge took place on 3oth October at the University Centre. Thank you to everyone who came and supported us!

Challenging Barriers to Inequality with Imran Khan (Solicitor of Stephen Lawrence)

How far have we come? How far is there to go? Imran Khan, the solicitor who represented the family of Stephen Lawrence, explored the impact, future and significance of equalities legislation in an inspiring talk.

The lecture (hosted by the Vice-Chancellor of the University) took place on Tuesday 29th October at 5.30pm in the Cambridge Law Faculty (LG19), and was followed by a reception and Q & A.

A Vindication of the Rights of Black Women: A Panel Discussion on Black Feminism

A Celebration of Black Female activism, identity and achievement; on 15th October 2014, we partnered with CUSU Women's Campaign in welcoming an esteemed panel of influential black women to speak on the distinctness and dynamism of black feminism through time, at Girton College.

We welcomed esteemed speakers: Professor Heidi Mirza, BA(hons) PhD, an Emeritus Professor of Equalities Studies in Education at the Institute of Education, University of London; Professor Joan Anim-Addo, B.Ed (Hons), MA, PhD, Professor of Caribbean Literature and Culture at Goldsmith's, University in London; and Nydia Swaby, PdD Student, a second year PhD student at the Centre for Gender Studies at SOAS, University of London.

The event was a huge success with a large turnout.

Welcome Committee 2013/14
